Friedrichshafen / sz - Was wäre, wenn die Menschen keine Kinder mehr bekommen würden? Darüber haben sich 13 Schüler der Friedrichshafener „Swiss International School“ (SIS) im Zuge eines Schulprojekts nicht nur den Kopf zerbrochen, sondern auch den Mund fusselig diskutiert. Und das Ganze auch noch auf Englisch. Anschließend fassten die 13 und 14-Jährigen ihre Argumente von Form von Zeitungsartikeln ab.
Das ist schon ein quirliger Haufen, der sich da im Klassenzimmer der SIS in einen Kreis gesetzt hat. Klar, was eine Zeitung ist, das wissen die jungen Frauen und Männer noch. Und das eine Zeitung nicht „durchgewischt“, sondern durchgeblättert wird, das ist ihnen auch klar. Und irgendwie, dachten sie sich, wäre das doch ganz witzig, mal einen Zeitungsartikel zu schreiben, den viele Menschen lesen werden.
Talkshowdiskussion
„Kids and teenagers within their family and society“ lautete das Unterrichtsthema, das Klassenlehrerin Katharina Dreizler vorgegeben hatte. Etwas frei übersetzt könnte das heißen: „Die Rolle von Kindern und Jugendlichen in ihrer Familie und in der Gesellschaft“. Aber wie sollen sie sich diesem Thema nähern? Ein Zeitungsbericht soll ja immerhin ausgewogen sein in seinen Argumenten. Die zündende Idee erklärt Janine: „Wir haben uns in Gruppen aufgeteilt und dann die Vor- und Nachteile vorbereitet und dann, wie in einer Talkshow, darüber mit den anderen Gruppen diskutiert.“ Tristan sollte moderieren: „Ich sollte gucken, dass alles im Rahmen bleibt, aber das gab schon eine ziemlich hitzige Diskussion.“
In einem Punkt herrschte seltsamerweise Uneinigkeit: „Wir haben viel darüber gestritten, ob die Menschheit aussterben würde“, erinnert sich Marisa. Dabei scheint die Antwort auf der Hand zu liegen: Ohne Kinder, keine Menschheit. Argumentativen Sprengstoff lieferte aber ein anderes Thema: „Am meisten haben wir über das Geldproblem diskutiert“, erklärt Philip. Kinder kosten Geld und Anne weiß, warum: „Weil man als Kind immer was haben will und weil man als Kind noch dauernd Klamotten braucht.“
Ob Annes Mutter denn von dieser Einsicht überhaupt wissen dürfe? Das könnte beim nächsten schiefen Haussegen gegen sie verwendet werden. Aber damit haben die jungen Frauen und Männer kein Problem. Wer einen Zeitungsartikel schreibt, der muss mit den Reaktionen der Leser leben können. Auch, wenn denen nicht gefällt, was geschrieben steht. Ach was, „läuft!“, klingt die lapidare Antwort der Klasse. „Läuft“, das ist die Antwort auf alles heutzutage, und zwar dann, wenn es, nun ja, wenn es eben läuft.
Braucht es Kinder überhaupt?
Grundsätzlich sprechen die Artikel, die die Schüler geschrieben haben, eine deutliche Sprache: Ja, es braucht Kinder. Vor allem deshalb, damit es Erwachsenen gut geht. Dank ihrer Kinder könnten Eltern nicht nur stolz und hätten eine Spielgefährten, nein, sie haben gar eine „positive, lebensverändernde“ Wirkung. Natürlich, das sollte nicht vergessen werden, haben sich die Teenager noch keine Nächte mit schreienden Säuglingen um die Ohren schlagen oder sich selbst bei den Hausaufgaben helfen müssen. Vielleicht haben sie deshalb die Argumente, die gegen Kinder sprechen würden, in ihren Zeitungsartikeln vergessen. Wie wäre es mit: Kinder, die übers Essen maulen, gehen auf die Nerven? Kinder, die schlechte Noten nach Hause bringen, bereiten einem Sorgen? Kinder, die nachts zu spät nach Hause kommen, machen einem Angst und Bange?
Aber schlussendlich wissen sie selber, dass ihre positiven Argumente mit einem Augenzwinkern zu verstehen sind. Ohne Kinder würde die Menschheit aussterben. Um Himmels Willen! Deshalb: Bekommt mehr Kinder, Ihr Menschen! Humor haben sie, die Schüler der Swiss International School. Und wer in einer Fremdsprache witzig sein kann, der scheint diese Sprache gut zu beherrschen. Denn all das, was die jungen Damen und Herren sich da ausgedacht haben, haben sie sich in Englisch ausgedacht. Wir, die erwachsenen Leser, sind stolz auf Euch. Wer hat Lust zu spielen?

In this article I want to talk about the topic children: Yes or no?
As first I have to say that children make parents really happy. For example friends of my parents. She couldn´t get children. So they adopted one and they were just so happy to have a child.
Secondly: If there wouldn´t be any children anymore, what would do the school or the kindergarten or the Kitas or all the institutions for children? The guys working there would all lose their jobs. And if the father for example is a teacher and the mother isn´t working, and they have to care for two children and the father loses the job as a teacher. They wouldn´t be able to take care for their kids.
What is also really important to say that parents are learning from their children or from having children. They learn to care for them and how to solve conflicts. Last and most important argument is that we would die out. There would be no humans anymore, if nobody would like to get children.
So as conclusion I think everybody should decide on his/her own way, because actually it´s nice to have kids and we do need them.

We discussed about having children or not, following arguements were mentioned.
Children bring a lot of fun into the live of the parents with all kind of things, like play different kind of games with them. The parents can also find new friends with their children, for example they meet other parents at the kindergarden or the school of the children.
The next argument is, that without children a lot of people would lose their jobs like teachers. Without children, they teach no one. Or the people at kindergarden, who should they take care of when there would be no children?
The last argument is, that you’re not alone when you’re old, because they can help you when you’re old and can do a lot of things for you.
So to summarize, children are good, because the make fun, they can help you and much more.

Many adults have no children these days. I think children are very important. Here are some arguments for having children:
First, I would like to say that children can keep a couple together. Many partnerships only still exist because they have children.
Next, children can be something the parents can be proud of and have fun with. Parents are always proud when their child can walk or when he or she comes home from school with a good grade.
Third, having children can be an invigorating experience. They can even get you out of a depression and give your life sense. For example a woman without a job can become happy again because she has a child.
Last, children are very important for the future of humanity. With the children of today, there will be no adults of tomorrow, meaning that humans would die out.
In conclusion, children can be an extremely positive, life-changing experience that everyone schould have or have had.

Children are the revolution of todays life. They play an important role for almost everybody on earth. But why are children actually important for the future and do we really need them?
To start, people without any children are often very lonely. They do or do not work, but while they are at home they sometimes do not know what to do. These humans oftenly get depressed and their chance for a nice joyful life gets low.
Important is as well, that the new young generations have lot’s of clever ideas. Children can often be smart to invent wonderful technology. This is then for example helpful for the environment.
I must say, that families monstly stay together because of the kids. This means, that kids play a big role in the constellation of a family. When there is a fight between two parents, the argument is often only because both of them want the best for their kid. The family can find a solution and divorced families get less, so children can hold family rituals tight.
The most imposrtant fact would be, that without us, as children, the world would maybe die out one day. If there are no growing kids, there can’t be any teens. With no teens, what would be about adults? Someday then, there wouldn’t be any adults, so what will our planet consist of?
I think a lot of adults haven’t thought about the huge advantages children bring. The fact that there couldn’t be any human life on earth, might shock lot’s of adults as well. Still, it should be everyones own decision to have children or not, but at least everybody should think of their opinion about the revolution of today first.
